Illawarra Luncheon
Date: Thursday 6 June
Time: 12pm for a 12:30pm start, to 2pm
Venue: City Beach Function Centre
Address: 1 Marine Dr, Wollongong
UDIA is delighted to invite you to join us, to hear for the first time, the findings from an exclusive UDIA-commissioned research report by Astrolabe Group. During their presentation they will unpack their findings on the Feasibility of Developments near Transport Oriented Development (TOD) areas identified in the Illawarra.
The TOD Program is the most talked about policy reform in NSW of recent times, with three Illawarra-based rail stations (and potentially two more to be added) included within Tier Two of the Program. If NSW is to reach its National Housing Accord targets, it is critical that the TOD Program delivers a major uptick in building approvals and housing completions across all identified locations. With the policy set to go live from mid-May, this event will provide a timely opportunity to look closely into its roll-out across the region and state.
Michael Comninos, Director at Astrolabe Group, will provide UDIA’s members and guests with the key Illawarra-based findings from their TOD Feasibility Research Report. This will be followed by an expert panel featuring Linda Davis, Wollongong Council, and Charlie Daoud, Traders in Purple. The panel will discuss the TOD Program, the report’s findings, and engage in a lively discussion on how these reforms change how we approach placemaking in the local Illawarra industry.
